Open Streets

April 19th I participated in Open Streets through Brewed and their Etsy vendor fair. Brewed is this cute cafe in Fort Worth on Magnolia Ave. (You can check them out here.)

A couple friends told me about the event the week before and said I should check it out. I had never been to Open Streets before, but my friend Julia, a woodworker (check out her gorgeous work on her Etsy site!) said that it was a pretty good event.

The atmosphere was amazing! I loved being there! There were a TON of people and it was fun to talk to people about my work. It was overall the best event I have been part of so far!  Thanks to everyone at Brewed who made it possible! And thank you to those of you who liked my work enough to purchase!

Here are some photos from the event. You’ll want to look at them all because there’s a cute, unexpected surprise in one…

Since Brewed was sponsoring Etsy vendors, I knew the vibe would be different than a traditional  art fair. I decided to change up the booth a little bit to go more with the flow.

See what I mean about the crowd?! There were so many people!

Here’s  a shot of me with my mom. What do you think? Do we look alike? People say I look a lot like her and others say I look just like my dad. Either way, I’m glad we could spend the day together.

Remember I promised a cute surprise? My mom got a kitten there! She was walking down the street and heard kittens crying (she has a superpower for hearing kittens). There was a man giving them away asking for donations to get their mother “fixed.” My mom said she resisted at first and walked away, but then gave in to the cuteness and went back.

Tim rushed to the store and bought some kitten formula. This baby girl was probably only two or three weeks old at the time! My mom has experience with kittens that young so the baby is doing great and stealing everyone’s hearts. She was a real show stopper!

I’m so grateful to everyone who made Open Streets an awesome experience! Can’t wait for the next fair!

For those of you who are wondering, the answer is “yes.” I do, in fact, have an Etsy shop. Due to teaching and the art fairs this spring I haven’t posted much and I think what I have posted has probably expired. With the arrival of summer (Woohoo!!!) I will be posting and updating my shop hopefully soon.
