Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts
Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts - art festival

What a wonderful email!

Back in August I applied for the Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts in Granbury, Texas, and in September I found out I was excepted! The festival was last weekend, which means I only had six weeks to prepare. Yikes! In those six weeks I completed eleven paintings (ranging from 6×6″ to a two-panel painting that was 24×48″), bought a tent, rented panels, bought director’s chairs, had prints made, ordered postcards and framed those eleven paintings in addition to my normal “day job” duties of preparing lessons and grading homework..

We had several paintings made into prints. It was so fun to sign them!

I am so blessed to have a husband who jumped in, did dishes, cleaned, researched, encouraged, supported and wasn’t upset when the mountain of laundry was comparable to a Colorado fourteener. I don’t know what I would do without him!

I love that man and how he loves me.

There was a lot to be done to get ready for festival weekend, but man was it worth it!

This is just some of the carnage from the nights before the festival.

I am a little disappointed that I did not sell much-mostly postcards and a couple “Cute Little Minis” -but overall the weekend was a blast. Just seeing all my work hanging in the booth was a huge confidence booster for me, and people were so encouraging with their comments. One of the most meaningful comments was when someone said that my booth was very happy. That is exactly what I want! I want God’s glory to show through my work and bring people joy and peace.

Enjoy some photos from the weekend.

We started unloading our cars around 7:00 on Friday night and didn’t leave until after 11:00 PM.

Once we set up the tent and panels (and by "we" I mean "Husband") we had to figure out where to hang everything.
